Facade Design Concept

  1. How does this work with your last post? Is this a part of the massing seen previously?Maybe the hexagons in plan have more relationship to the hexagons in elevation or section.

    The hexagon is a challenging form, I notice that you are using the hexagon as a pattern, like a basket weave or something. Why not consider large and small hexagons arrayed in some composition? A large hex might be used for say, a living room, while smaller hex's are used for openable windows.

    And, who says that a hexagon must always be equilateral? Why can't two parallel sides be equal and longer than the others?

    (I don't like him but) Gehry shows us that walls need not be plumb, they can be sloped or curved.

    By the way, I recommend going into the city to see the new Cooper-Union building on the Bowery before they complete the curtain wall glazing.
