I may know you,but I'm sorry I can't attach a face to your name. The Hearst Bldg. on 57th Street & 8th Ave in Manhattan is an example of 60 degree exterior framing called diagrid. This building can safely be called a Hexagrid. Do you think the hexagrid is as inherently stable as the diagrid? I can imagine the vertices of the hexagrid taking a lot of stress. Reinforced concrete might be the best framing material in lieu of steel.
The aesthetics of the building is very appealing, especially at grade level. Your thoughts?
I look forward to seeing you explore the theoretical aspect of this course. I am glad to see these first images, but I want you to explore quick study models that are abstract, but still to some scale - fitting on the site.
